VIEWPOINT CHURCH SQUARE

This square is located in the highest part of the village and at the end of the Calle Mayor. It was built next to the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. In recent years it has undergone various remodelling works, although it still conserves the original 18th century fountain of Ceheginero jasper, sculpted in red, grey and black marble. From the square you can see traces of the Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque façade of the church, a Gothic window over the sacristy and a bell tower built in 1930. You can also enjoy a great panoramic view of the orchard of Moratalla, the old town and its mountains. In 1563, the wall of the square was built, which together with it serves as an abutment to the main church of our town.
